Skin Disinfection - Medical Antiseptics

Skin disinfection prior to any invasive procedure or when treating wounds is an essential step in infection prevention in medical practices. The skin antiseptics available from CardioDépôt cover all indications: hand hygiene through rubbing, antisepsis of the surgical site prior to injections or samples, and disinfection of traumatic or chronic wounds.

Hydroalcoholic solutions for hand hygiene

Hydroalcoholic solutions (SHA) for hand rubbing are the cornerstone of hand hygiene in outpatient care. Their bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal efficacy is superior to washing with soap when hands are not visibly soiled. Compliant with standard EN 1500 (log reduction ≥ 4 in 30 seconds), our HALS are available in desktop pump bottles, 100 ml pocket bottles for on-the-go use, and 5 L containers for refilling wall-mounted dispensers.

Antiseptics for invasive procedures

Skin antisepsis prior to intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, prior to venipuncture or prior to the insertion of an intravenous line requires the application of a major antiseptic (Betadine or alcoholic chlorhexidine) to clean, dry skin. The 4-step protocol (cleansing, rinsing, antiseptic application, drying) is recommended prior to procedures with a high risk of infection. Our antiseptics are available in single-dose vials to minimise cross-contamination.
