ECG Conductive Spray – Quick, Contact-Free Application

ECG Conductive Spray is a modern and practical alternative to traditional conductive gel for improving the quality of electrical contact between the patient’s skin and the electrodes. Its aerosol application method, which requires no direct contact, makes it the ideal solution for high-volume ECG departments and emergency situations where time is of the essence.

Advantages of the spray over traditional gel

The conductive spray is applied instantly and evenly to the area where the electrodes are placed. Unlike gel, it does not require massaging into the skin and leaves no sticky residue that is difficult to wipe off. Its rapid evaporation also reduces the risk of cross-contamination between patients during serial ECGs. Modern formulations offer electrical conductivity equivalent to gel whilst being gentle on sensitive skin.

Indications and optimal use

The ECG spray is particularly recommended for stress ECGs where heavy sweating can cause adhesive electrodes to come loose – a light spray under the electrodes improves adhesion and conductive contact. It is also widely used in A&E departments and busy cardiology units. Our sprays are formulated for optimal compatibility with all disposable ECG electrodes on the market, whether they are snap-on, clip-on or clamp-on types.
